In 1975, four former British Airways employees joined together to make the first privately owned ground-handling company in Khartoum International Airport. MAKS was created to provide efficient service to customer airlines in a time where the airport was expanding and new flights were arriving every month. MAKS initially handled all the British Airways flights operating through Khartoum Airport.
With British Airways as the first customer airline, MAKS Aviation blossomed from a small, privately owned company into a leader in the field of ground handling. MAKS has handled flights from Swiss Air, British Airways, and KLM, and many others. Today we proudly handle FlyNas, Syrian Arab Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and the United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), as well as many other ad-hoc flights.
At MAKS, our management team and staff are dedicated to the safe and efficient provision of all our services.
