A Brief History of MAKS
Establishment of MAKS Aviation
MAKS Aviation Services Co. Ltd. was established in 1975 by four former British Airways employees. MAKS was the first privately owned ground handling company at Khartoum international Airport at the time. With all three founders having been formerly employed and trained by British Airways, they achieved the highest standards of service in the aviation field. Using their previously acquired knowledge, the founders of MAKS set out to create a company that provided the highest quality of ground handling services.
In 1975, MAKS handled all of the British Airways flights through Khartoum Airport.
MAKS expands its services
In 1977, just two years after its establishment, MAKS expanded its services to provide ground handling support for airlines such as Swissair, KLM, Kenya Airways, Iberia, Kuwait Airways, Gulf Air, Qatar Airways, BMI, Bahrain Air, Eritrean Airlines, and Syrian Airlines.
MAKS obtains a new Management team
As of March 9th, 2006, MAKS Aviation Services entered into an agreement with a former MAKS employee, who acquired the majority shares of the company. He invested both time and capital in order to buy new ground handling equipment and renew the management of MAKS.
MAKS is being operated by that same investor, who continues to manage the company in a modern and efficient way, whilst still keeping the values set in place by the founders over 40 years ago.
MAKS aims to continue its history of dedication to its customers with its initial high standards of quality service, and a new desire for efficiency and excellence
